SMS Terms

redd.email sends three kinds of text message, and you switch each one on yourself. This page describes the whole program, including the exact words we show you when you agree to it.

Effective August 16, 2026

1. Program name and operator

The program is redd.email Messaging, operated by redd.email. redd.email is an email hosting service. It has no email-and-password login: your phone number is your account identifier, which is why text messaging is central to how the service works.

2. The three message types

Each type is separate. Agreeing to one never enrolls you in another, and there is no bundled “agree to everything” consent anywhere in the product.

TypeWhat it isFrequencyHow you opt in
Sign-in passcodesA one-time six-digit code so you can sign inOne message per sign-in requestYou request each one on the sign-in page
Account and security alertsNew-device sign-ins, app password changes, domain and billing problemsUp to about 4 messages per monthCheckbox in your profile, off by default
Product newsNew features, service updates, occasional offersUp to about 2 messages per monthCheckbox in your profile, off by default

3. How you opt in to sign-in passcodes

This one is web-based, self-service, and single-step. The page is public — no account needed to see it — at https://redd.email/login.

  1. You type your own mobile number into the field labeled “Phone number.”
  2. Below the field and directly above the button, before anything is sent, the page shows: “By tapping Text me a code, you agree to receive a one-time sign-in passcode by text message from redd.email at the number you entered. Message frequency is one message per sign-in request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out — opting out stops your sign-in codes and you will no longer be able to sign in. See our SMS Terms, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Use.”
  3. You tap Text me a code. That action is your consent, and it sends exactly one message.

A passcode message reads:

Your redd.email verification code is: 123456

4. How you opt in to alerts and product news

Both live on your profile page, at Profile → Text messages, once you have an account. Each is an unchecked checkbox — we never pre-check them, and creating an account does not enroll you. Beside each checkbox is the consent language you are agreeing to, reproduced here word for word:

Account and security alerts — up to about 4 messages per month

Yes, text me account and security alerts from redd.email — sign-ins from a new device, app passwords created or revoked, domain and DNS changes, and billing problems that could interrupt my mail. Up to about 4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help.

A message of this kind reads:

redd.email: new sign-in on a device in Oakland, CA. Not you? Revoke it at https://redd.email/profile

Product news — up to about 2 messages per month

Yes, text me redd.email product news — new features, service updates, and occasional offers. Up to about 2 messages per month. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help.

A message of this kind reads:

redd.email: custom domains now set themselves up in one step — no DNS editing. See what's new: https://redd.email/inbox Reply STOP to cancel

Ticking a box and saving records your consent — the exact wording above, the date, and the device it came from — so both of us have a record of what was agreed. Unticking it stops those messages immediately.

There is no other way onto any of these lists. We do not buy, rent, import, or accept phone numbers from any list, partner, or affiliate, and we never message a number whose owner did not enter it here themselves. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

5. Cost

redd.email does not charge you for any of these messages. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.

6. How to stop (opt out)

Reply STOP to any message from us to stop every text in the program. You will get one confirmation and then nothing further. To switch off only alerts or only product news and keep the rest, untick that box under Profile → Text messages instead.

One consequence worth knowing: the passcode is the only way into a redd.email account, so a blanket STOP means you cannot sign in on a new device. Text START to the same number to resume, or request a fresh code from the sign-in page. To leave entirely, write to support@redd.email and we will delete your account.

7. How to get help

Reply HELP to any message from us, or write to support@redd.email. We answer within one business day.

8. Supported carriers

Available on major US carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and their affiliates and resellers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

9. Your privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party except the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf. We use Twilio to deliver these messages; Twilio receives your phone number and the delivery status of the message solely so it can be delivered, and is contractually barred from using it for anything else. The full picture is in our Privacy Policy.

10. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number you enter. Do not enter someone else’s number.

11. Changes

If we materially change this program we will update this page and its effective date, and notify account holders in the app before the change takes effect.
